Learning is like mercury,
one of the most powerful and excellent things
in the world in skillful hands;
in unskillful, the most mischievous.
Alexander Pope

I had rather be Mercury, the smallest among seven,
revolving round the sun,
than the first among five revolving round Saturn.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Mercury appears to be the closest planet
to the Sun, and it is one of the smallest planets in our solar system. Its
diameter is smaller than the diameters of some of the larger moons of Jupiter
and Saturn. Mercury has no moons or satellites itself.
